Halloween is a fun time for all but even more so at Poet’s Walk. Each location had their own twist on the costumed day.
On October 30th, preschoolers dressed up as cats and dogs joined the memory care residents at Poet’s Walk Cedar Park for some good, old-fashioned Halloween fun! The kids walked in a parade to show off their costumes and enjoyed Trick or Treating with the residents. Everyone made a Halloween, hand print craft where they wrote five things (one for every finger!) they love about Halloween on their hand print. The hand prints were fastened to a tree to stay on display at Poet’s Walk. There was a Halloween themed photo booth and an ice cream treat.
On October 31st, costume clad elementary school students and seniors came together for Halloween fun at Poet’s Walk Round Rock. Mrs. Mac’s Christian School students were greeted by residents who were in a circle in the Poet’s Walk common area. They also trick or treated at the residents apartments whose doors were decorated for Halloween. Approximately 15 elementary school aged kids in costume participated in this Halloween event and spend time with the seniors.
On Halloween, preschool and kindergarten students went trick or treating with the senior residents at Poet’s Walk San Antonio. The two generations were able to mix and mingle while getting into the Halloween spirit with candy and fun.
On Halloween, our memory care seniors were the official judges for a Halloween costume contest at Poet’s Walk Henderson. After the contest, the Halloween celebration continued with a spooky concert by Nancy Massena. She sang Monster Mash, Thriller, I Put a Spell on You and many more scary songs. Everyone had a great time taking pictures in the photo booth filled with frightening props like a skeleton frame, masks and more!
On Halloween, a costume contest kicked off the celebration for the memory care residents at Poet’s Walk Fredericksburg. Then everyone will enjoy spooky party games starting with a Toilet Paper Mummy game where they’ll race to wrap a few residents and team members in t.p. to turn them into a mummy. Then during Mummy Bowling they’ll use a pumpkin as a bowling ball and will knock down pins that look like mummies.
