The new Poet’s Walk Memory Care Communities in Round Rock and San Antonio are each offering a free dinner workshop on the newest technology in the healthcare field that will ease communication for families with loved ones in senior communities. These workshops, titled “Technology in Senior Living”, are part of the Care Giver One on One program. Poet’s Walk Round Rock, located at 4050 Sunrise Rd, will host their dinner program on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 and Poet’s Walk San Antonio, located at 5438 Presidio Parkway, on Thursday, July 28, 2016.

Both events run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and only 25 seats are available at each. Please contact Tatiana Gula tgula@spring-hills.netfor the Round Rock dinner and Wendy Martin at wmartin@spring-hills.net for the San Antonio dinner.

Poet’s Walk Memory Care Communities are leading the way with the newest technology to provide the highest quality, compassionate care and engagement, while encouraging independence and celebrating the unique abilities of their residents through their Signature Trends program. This technology, Healthsense®, PointClickCare and SMILE™, becomes a “voice” for the residents when they are unable to properly communicate the subtle changes they are experiencing.

Poet’s Walk believes that everyone should not only have the best care for their loved ones, but understand how their loved ones are being cared for. “We work hard at Poet’s Walk to provide the most current and comprehensive care for our residents. At the same time, we know they need to feel at home and comfortable with their care, as do their family members,” said Amber Turner, Regional Executive Director for Poet’s Walk Round Rock and San Antonio. “Our goal is to educate the community and family members on this technology so that they have that comfort.”

Signature Trends help Poet’s Walk to:

  • Better communicate with the entire family on areas of social engagement,
  • Provide point of service care,
  • Identify emerging health conditions,
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and
  • Assist with preventing hospitalizations.

Poet’s Walk Memory Care Communities have been developed to provide comprehensive Alzheimer’s and dementia care in a beautiful, luxurious setting. They provide structured care programs that combine the stability of a routine with independence and autonomy for a healthy lifestyle for people in all stages of Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia.
